City: Regina / State: Saskatchewan                                                   


At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ North America has an immediate opening for a Benefits Analyst in Regina. This position will facilitate the benefits and retirement savings plans for all our Canadian locations.  The successful candidate will provide support on the day to day activities as well as contribute to project work. This positions reports to the Benefits Manager, Canada.

  • Serves as the first point of contact for HR, the carriers, researches employee benefits questions and responds to employees for benefit-related inquiries
  • Coordinates and facilitates Workers Compensation Board (WCB), Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) claims and ongoing claims management
  • Manages absence and benefits data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) includes: data entry or approval of benefit changes and the resolution of discrepancies arising from carrier file feeds
  • Retirement plan administration for the defined benefit, defined contribution, supplemental retirement, and retiree medical and life plans
  • Processes premium payments and invoices for group insurance benefits and pension plans
  • Fundamental understanding of legislative compliance for benefit, absence and pension
  • Provide support and response to inquiries from internal and external auditors, vendors, and regulatory authorities
  • Facilitates benefit orientation and education sessions, as required
  • Creates and updates documents as needed (insurance rates, election forms, etc.) and regularly runs required reports (in HRIS system and from pension trustee system)
  • Supports the team on various projects and analyses as well as with the implementation of new projects and processes
  • Compiling and ensuring the accuracy of data utilized for a wide variety of statements and reports, including annual Total Reward Statements



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, finance or other related discipline
  • Working towards a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is desirable
  • Minimum 2 years benefits and pension administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong business decision-making skills and interpretation of regulations and policy development
  • Demonstrated ability to execute on tasks/projects, and manage across various customer groups with high attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Must be able to function independently, work with some ambiguity and demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and timeliness
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer service focus
